Warm Welcome Spaces in the District
The Warm Welcome Spaces initiative began as a response to the burgeoning cost of living crisis, where people across the country struggled to pay for electricity, heating and food. At the start of the project, many of our churches expanded existing community initiatives to provide a warm space, hot beverage, conversation and company to those who needed it. The project has since grown into a movement offering connection and community to those experiencing loneliness and isolation and we are delighted that many of our churches have been able to continue to offer a provision for those in need.
Below, you will find a list of our churches in the London District which offer some warm space provision. We hope that this information will enable those in need in our communities to find support, companionship and a warm welcome.
Grants are available to support existing Warm Space initiatives in our churches and/or circuits. The guidance and application form can be found here. You can also download a template risk assessment form here.
