Infection Control in Faith Settings:
A Briefing

Dear Friends,

Following a successful and well-received session on infection control and the appropriate use of PPE, I write to inform you that the District will be hosting another of these sessions, led by Sandy Youngson. Sandy has been delivering similar sessions for staff in care homes, schools, early years settings, as well as other public sector workers and volunteers in Brent since early April. During this time the presentation has developed in response to changing guidance. It would be invaluable for ministers, church leaders and those within our churches who may find this information useful, to have the opportunity to engage with this important subject.

The session is 90 minutes long, allowing time for questions. The session also comes to you via MS Teams. MS Teams has a limit of 250 participants so please think about who is best in your context to attend. We would encourage those involved in managing and cleaning church buildings to join in.

Details of this session can be found below. (Please note that the presentation slides will be available after the session. Please contact the Admin Team to request a copy.)

  • Instructions: To access this Briefing, click on the link ‘Join Microsoft Teams Meeting’ (above) a couple of minutes before the start time. You can use any internet connected device, however we will be sharing slides, so you may find a screen larger than a phone easier to view.

If you do  not have the ‘MS Teams’ app, or don’t wish to download it, that should not a problem as you will be given an option to join via your web browser

Aim: To help participants gain a clear understanding of how to manage the spread of infections with particular reference to Covid-19 and their work setting

By the end of this briefing, you will…

  • Have a basic understanding of Covid-19

  • Know how to best protect yourself, church members, visitors and others in your community from infection

  • Know where to find guidance and best practice advice relating to your context.

  • Know the contact details if someone may require additional safeguarding

  • Have had an opportunity to ask questions

We look forward to seeing you in Thursday.

With every blessing

Micky
