A year long course to equip lay people in the London Methodist District with the confidence, knowledge and skills to fulfil leadership roles.
Leadership is needed in all areas of church life – and leaders come in all shapes and sizes.
Leadership isn’t about the most confident person telling everyone else what to do, or the most experienced person deciding what should happen.
It is about using our God-given gifts to the full to help our Church move forward.
If you’d like to learn more about current leadership thinking, improve your confidence, have more personal impact, be more purposeful at meetings, lead a team more effectively . . .
If you’ve ever thought about taking on a leadership role, but have been uncertain about whether you can do it . . .
If you are already in a leadership role in your church, and would now like the opportunity to develop your skills . . .
. . . then this is the course for you!
The course content includes: ~
Leadership models and theories
Methodism and Leadership
The London context
Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
Managing self; time; environment; meetings
The course draws on the expertise of lay and ordained people in the District and the Discipleship and Ministries Learning Network of the Methodist Church.
It will be held as a series of 20 fortnightly Wednesday evening sessions, 2 Saturdays and 2 residential weekends beginning April 2018 and finishing April 2019.
If you are interested, please discuss this in the first instance with your Minister or Superintendent, as they will need to support your application. If you would like further information please contact email@example.com
