It will be 500 years since the start of the Protestant reformation on October 31st this year, join us as we celebrate 'Martin Luther- History Maker' just a few days before the actual anniversary.
On the evening of Sunday, 29th October, we will be hosting, 'Martin Luther 500 - History Maker,' a dramatic production of the 'father of the Reformation', compiled and written by Methodist performer and author Tony Jasper, who'll be entertaining and informing us with West End actors Ruth James and Emma Danby.
Martin Luther 500 - History Maker charts the dramatic story of the young Luther, whose pinning of the 95 Theses to the Wittenberg castle door in 1517 started a fast moving chain of events that changed both the Church and the world, will be told through drama, narrative, music, 'fiery' sermons and prayerful reflections.
Some of Luther's most famous hymns, often transliterations of Psalms will be sung, led by Director of Music Gerard Brooks and the Methodist Central Hall Westminster Orchestra and Choir.
Admission is free, but a collection to defray expenses will be taken up. A stirring and grand occasion of worship and celebration is assured.
We shall begin with informal worship at 5.10pm for a 5.30pm start in our Great Hall. I do hope you might be able to attend and spread the word to others too.
