The Methodist Church is called to develop ‘faithful and fruitful disciples and congregations’. In order to be effective in this and to encourage congregations to become lifelong learners, personal development and continuing study are essential. The Church is committed to supporting its ministers in a process of annual review.
Each minister is required to undergo a Ministerial Development review which will seek to identify his/her areas of strength as well as those areas which require further development. One aim of the MDR process is to link ministers up with the best possible training programmes and other resources to ensure they continue in their journey as faithful and fruitful ministers.
