Living God,
we thank you for the great diversity
of people
and the rich variety

of gifts with which
you have blessed us:

As we seek to be
good news
In our local communities and
this global City;

May the grace of your Son inspire us;

the wisdom of your Spirit teach us;

and the strength of your presence sustain us,

We ask this for your glory’s sake.
Amen.

Guide us Lord, in all our journeys.
When there is uncertainty, give us patience and vision. When the future is unclear, help us to learn from our experience and trust each other as companions along the road.
When the challenges are great, encourage us to find hidden depths of strength
for all that is ahead, through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Welcome to the London District of the Methodist Church

London is different! It is a place of exceptional diversity, vibrancy and energy. Its excitement, complexity and challenges are unequalled. The Methodist Church in London shares those qualities and our mission as disciples of Jesus Christ is to respond creatively to the opportunities and needs of this unique city.

In a pioneering collaborative structure three Chairs, Rev Jenny Impey and Rev Dr Stuart Jordan and Rev Ermal Kirby work with a team of paid and voluntary officers to support and develop the life of the District.

The team serves 22,000 registered members of Methodist Churches in London, and many more people who are involved in our work and worship.

Our calling within the Connexional witness of British Methodism is to be "Good News in a Global City"

Details of our work and the resources to support it can be found here.
